Hannah Haddix is an Arizona-born, Seattle-based, multidisciplinary artist & world traveler. Relinquishing a Rhodes Scholarship, she dropped out ov NYC's School ov Visual Arts when Genesis P-Orridge asked her to go on a 2 month Russian & European tour with Psychic Tv in 2007. Hannah lived in The Gates Institute with the Breyer P-Orridges and was heavily influenced and inspired by the Arte, Magick & Mentorship within the art cult commune. Adopting Brion Gysin & William Burroughs' cut-up method, she discovered the transcendental utility ov communicating with her subconscious self through collage work used in ritual context. Haddix explored a stint ov naked, chaotic, fluid-drenched ritual performance art, during which she dirtied the stages ov The Rubin Museum in Manhattan, Museum ov Contemporary Art in Tucson & Lethal Amounts in Los Angeles. First Thursday Art Walk February 2nd 5-9pm Mortlake and Company 121 Prefontaine Place South Seattle, WA 98104 William Kiesel will be exhibiting a series of ink studies focused on the topic of the magical daggers of Indonesia and Malaysia.
The opening reception is 5th of January during the Pioneer Square Art Walk in Seattle. Please join us in observing this intriguing magical object from the sacred traditions of Southeast Asia. Original art and a monograph on the topic will be available for purchase. Mortlake & Company: 121 Prefontaine Place South Seattle, WA 98104 |
